Crow’s Nest

Maggie's singin'tree

Here is the view from out the dining room window of our apartment! The birdies like to congregate in the Norfolk Island Pine, so we won’t have much reason to miss our New Zealand Christmas Tree crew >_< We are mostly moved in, knick-knacks + tshatshkes still mostly at the beachouse. I woke up for work + the full moon was doing that Holdfast moon trick. I could also see the city รขโ‚ฌโ€œ guess we live in the hills now! heheh ehe ๐Ÿ˜›

sweet 70 happy valentine's
Mmm, books – note cocoabutter box + my loverly Valentine’s day roses :o

So far is quiet. Nice neighbors, great walks all around us. I’ve been getting off the train @Brighton + biking the rest of the way home, uphill. It is kicking my ass ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. I *love* our new place. It’s nice to be honeymooning again ๐Ÿ˜€

We don’t have much in the way of furniture as yet, it’s going to be fun collecting. A big thankyou to mum for all the bits and pieces she hunted up.ร‚ย  There are no pets allowed, but there are no rules about visitors… Sooty thinks it’s a sweet spot ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m going to need lots of plants to talk to with no animals around.

To go for a morning swim I have to walk through wild, foresty places with lots of birds, and along the sand a little way to find a nice spot. The locals are so friendly! Last week I was swimming as the wobbly almost-full moon was setting… such a magical start to the day. A fisherman and the guy at the bike shop have both given me hot tips on good spots to go snorkeling. More on that as it happens.

  2. Space for a garden perhaps? Here I am reading your blog when I should be packing. We leave in the early A.M. and it looks like the blizzard has gotten done and planes will be flying. Tomorrow at this time, we will be on our way to Seattle, then three days later, Florida. I can’t wait to see a beach!

  3. Dawn, I’ve seen first hand what an outstanding packer you are. I’m sure a little break for a cup of tea while you read won’t hurt too much. Besides, all you really need to pack is your swimmers, suncream and toothbrush ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh, and as Douglas Adams would remind us –a towel, of course.

Have fun in Florida! Hug Carol and Harry for us ๐Ÿ™‚
